I have spent the past 30 years or so painting and working in some of the most interesting and diverse situations, starting out in England where I painted pubs, stately homes and everything in-between.Having sold my flat in London during the late 80’s property boom, I left my office job and went traveling. By the time I got home I had made the decision to switch to a career in a creative trade and learned about Leonard Pardon’s School of Specialist Paint Finishes in Knightsbridge, London. Looking at the brochure, I was fascinated by the idea that one could make something look exactly like wood or marble using tools and paints—and I was further intrigued that this was something from which one could make a living.I signed up for an intensive course and soon realized how lucky I was to have stumbled upon the opportunity. Leonard is a master at the craft of faux finishing and I soaked up every little piece of wisdom he was generous enough to pass along. My first job in the field was painting a friend’s restaurant and soon after I painted a shopfront, both highly visible projects. Before long, I was regularly sub-contracting for a custom kitchen cabinet shop, gaining referrals from happy customers and expanding my repertoire with every job. Then, in 1998, I took another leap of faith by moving to New York where I met my partner, husband and best friend, Frank Anselmo. His wallpapering expertise adds a whole new realm of opportunities for my clients, as I do for his!Over the years, I have had the pleasure and privilege of working alongside many talented, creative individuals and have been involved in countless projects where my energy and can-do personality thrives. My passion for redesign and making something out of nothing has grown with every project. When I’m not working, I love to garden and hang out with my dogs
