Commercial projects
Commercial work comes with challenges – budgets, timelines, and finishes that have to withstand heavy use and constant cleaning. Decisions need to support how the space functions and flows, not just aesthetics.
I work with business owners and the team around the project to keep things clear, coordinated and moving forward, without losing sight of the overall direction – coordinating schedules, materials and finishes so the work progresses properly and issues are dealt with early, not once they’ve turned into delays.
I’m used to working to deadlines, adapting to site realities and keeping standards intact through to completion.
Finishes, branding, and custom elements
Finishes play a significant role in commercial spaces — both visually and practically. Techniques such as woodgraining, glazing, decorative painting, plaster, and textured finishes can be used to refresh existing interiors or add character to new ones, while holding up under regular use.
In some projects, my involvement includes helping translate a brand into the physical environment. This might mean pulling together a coherent scheme, identifying design opportunities, or working alongside an interior designer to ensure the space feels aligned with the business it represents.
Where appropriate, I also design and produce custom signage or artwork — elements that are both practical and decorative, and that help communicate a business’s identity within the space.
The project below is representative of the type of commercial work I take on, combining design thinking, coordination and specialist finishes in practice.
Featured Commercial Project
A full transformation of an existing space into a wine-focused restaurant and bar, involving custom finishes and close coordination throughout the build.
Commercial projects benefit from clear oversight and steady follow-through.
